EchoIQ is a Software-As-A-Medical-Device (SaMD) company commercializing AI decision-support tools for structural heart disease for Interventional Cardiologists in the U.S. market. Publicly traded since 2021 on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX: EIQ), EchoIQ has a multi-product portfolio with FDA 510(k) clearances for diagnosing aortic stenosis and a robust product pipeline for additional heart failure applications. We are hiring EchoIQ’s Head of U.S. Commercialization after recently securing our latest round of growth capital!
We have partnered with Dustin Haines, CEO, to hire our Head of Commercialization to launch our next-generation, echocardiography, AI-powered, diagnostics software in the U.S. This position will own go-to-market execution, build and scale the commercial team, drive clinical and administrative adoption, and convert high-value 90-day trials into long-term subscription contracts.

Position’s Key Responsibilities

Reports to the CEO and leads our Head of Marketing as a direct report.

Build a U.S. commercial team (sales, marketing, and customer success).

Drive hospital adoption, manage the full sales cycle, and oversee a 40-rep contract sales force from Siemens.

Travel up to 75% to key cardiac centers to secure clinical buy-in and financial approvals.

Collaborate cross-functionally on product positioning, pricing, reimbursement, and strategic partnerships.

Responsibilities:
• Drive adoption of technology that can reduce time-to-diagnosis and improve clinical outcomes in conditions such as aortic stenosis, heart failure, and other structural heart diseases.
• Champion the integration of AI-enabled cardiovascular imaging and analytics into the standard of care.
• Build partnerships that accelerate market penetration in cardiovascular service lines globally.
• Influence how healthcare systems approach prevention, diagnosis, and management of cardiovascular disease.
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
• Develop and execute the commercial strategy to achieve revenue, market share, and growth targets.
• Define pricing models, market segmentation, and channel strategies for software-as-a-medical-device (SaMD) products.
• Work closely with executive leadership to align commercial plans with product roadmap, regulatory approvals, and reimbursement strategies.
Sales Management
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales and account management team.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales growth, customer acquisition, and retention.
• Drive enterprise-level sales to health systems, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), imaging centers, and physician groups.
Market Development
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, including partnerships with distributors, OEMs, and strategic health tech collaborators.
• Build relationships with key decision-makers, including C-suite hospital executives, cardiovascular service line directors, and procurement stakeholders.
• Leverage clinical and economic data to support value-based selling in cardiovascular diagnostics and treatment pathways
Marketing
• Lead marketing team to develop leading campaigns to highlight innovative technologies and value-based messaging
• Leverage omnichannel approaches to increase share of voice across external customers
• Develop strategies for go-to-market launches in cardiovascular diagnostics and treatment pathways
Regulatory & Reimbursement Alignment
• Ensure sales strategy is compliant with FDA, CE, MDR, HIPAA, and other relevant regulatory requirements for medical device software.
• Collaborate with market access teams to incorporate reimbursement codes, coverage policies, and payer engagement into sales planning—especially for cardiovascular procedures and diagnostics.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with marketing to develop targeted campaigns and thought leadership initiatives.
• Work with product and clinical teams to gather customer feedback, influence product development, and validate market needs in cardiovascular care.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years in commercial leadership roles in medical device, digital health, or healthcare technology, with at least 5 years in sales leadership.
• Direct experience in cardiovascular disease markets, including selling to cardiology departments, heart centers, or related service lines.
• Proven track record of scaling B2B enterprise sales in regulated healthcare markets.
• Experience selling software-based medical devices (SaMD) or advanced medical imaging/diagnostics solutions.
• Strong understanding of cardiovascular clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and reimbursement pathways.
• Demonstrated success in building and managing multi-million-dollar pipelines.
Preferred:
• Experience with AI-enabled cardiovascular imaging, diagnostics, or clinical decision support software.
• Established network within hospital cardiovascular programs, imaging centers, and medical device distributors.
• International market experience (EU MDR, Canada, APAC) is nice to have.
• MBA, MPH, or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
