This ain’t our first rodeo!

The Houston MedTech Rodeo Conference gathers a curated group of 400 corporate strategics, investors, operating executives, academic institutions, policy makers, and industry partners in parallel of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. This is the world’s oldest, largest, and longest rodeo bringing three million spectators to a piece of Americana and an icon of Texas culture. Offering high-impact, MedTech networking combined with a cultural experience like no other, the Houston MedTech Rodeo belongs on your calendar.

Amongst educational panels and over-sized networking time, attendees will experience live Country music, armadillo races, mechanical bulls, and western-themed activations.

A bold Texas twist, saloon-style venue, buckles, boots and cowboy experiences are traded for hotel ballrooms, lobbies, and formalwear. This rodeo-style conference sparks collaboration in an unconventional and relaxed setting that leaves lasting impressions.

Real testimonials from innovators shaping the future of MedTech

I’ve been to more conferences than I can count inside windowless hotel ballrooms where every hallway and breakout room looks and feels exactly the same. The Houston MedTech Rodeo was the opposite.
Fresh air, sunshine, long communal tables, incredible barbecue, live music, and an atmosphere that felt far more like a gathering of neighbors than a traditional conference.

People traveled in from all over the world, but the tone was unmistakably Houston. Relaxed, welcoming, and full of the kind of conversations that happen when people feel comfortable enough to take their time and actually get to know one another.

Fantastic first few days at the Houston MedTech Rodeo with Lifeblood and Giovanni Lauricella in the fastest growing MedTech town in the U.S.!
Building MedTech companies is really hard work. But we can still have a lot of fun along the way. Amazing to have so many Goodwin MedTech partners down for the festivities -- covering the full spectrum needs of any MedTech company -- corporate, IP, regulatory, M&A and beyond. If you are around and we haven't met yet, please come and say "Hi Y'all" today!

At Medtech Rodeo, the energy was equally inspiring.
Texas is emerging as a hotbed of healthcare innovation, supported by pioneering health systems and a vibrant ecosystem of medtech founders and investors. Interestingly, European investors are becoming more active in U.S. healthcare, helping bridge innovation across continents. For early-stage startups, creative funding sources — from family offices and accelerators to grants and non-profits — are key to getting off the ground.

A big thank you to Giovanni Lauricella and the team behind Medtech Rodeo for bringing together such a dynamic community driving medtech forward.

Congratulations to Lifeblood and Giovanni Lauricella for hosting a well-coordinated and content-rich program!
I just returned from a highly educational 2-day MedTech conference in Houston that I'd highly recommend for anyone interested in getting into the world of MedTech start-ups. If you're seeking advice on how best to get your company to the next major milestone or you need to find outside support to do it, you're likely to find both here! Two things consistently struck me during the event: 1) the MedTech ecosystem in Houston is well-coordinated, has momentum, and is growing fast, and 2) this community of CEOs, funding sources, and support vendors are friendly, approachable, and eager to help each other succeed!

I look forward to attending the MedTech Oktoberfest event in September!

Pleasure serving on a panel regarding “Health System Corporate Venture - The Extreme Value Add Investor”,
sharing insights on OSF Ventures, and learning from my colleagues including Aileen H., Zach Eisen , Kipum Lee, PhD , Mike Anderes and Bob Crutchfield at the Houston Medtech Rodeo. One key takeaway: we like to co-invest together!

Thank you to Giovanni Lauricella and the Lifeblood team for organizing a one of its kind medtech conference in a fantastic venue.
